Client
Societe Generale in association with Hong Kong Rugby Union hosted the official Rugby World Cup Fanzone at the AIA Vitality Park. Sports fans were encouraged to come and support their team for the first Asian Rugby World Cup on a Huge outdoor screen in Central, Hong Kong. All 45 Games were to be shown at the Fanzone with Food & Beverage, special guests, activities and a large corporate VIP lounge.
Challenge
The Fanzone had a short window to maximise sales opportunities, the client required fast transaction times and a POS system that could provide insightful data instantly to maximise F&B sales during key service times, Pre-Game, Half time and Post-Game.
Solution
Zicket worked alongside key stakeholders, Societe Generale, HKRU and Oolaa Group to provide a fast, accurate solution to help collate all of the F&B from the 20th September to the 2nd November and encourage repeat custom via a membership style payment card. Zicket also had the option to buy advance credits through the website allowing customers to top up their fan card quickly and easily.
Results
The event received some great feedback from customers, sponsors and media for the event and the ease of use of the Zicket system. The stakeholders found the system easy to learn and received figures quickly and accurately. Rugby fans really enjoyed having the option of bringing their fanzone card to the different games and not having to register a new card as the funds would carry over to each game and were also able to process and post-event refund direct to their chosen bank.
All food & beverage outlets and merchandise stores could provide the guests with a quick ‘one step’, ‘one tap’ transaction by using the branded zicket card. The technology was easy to use and most of all simple to teach catering staff how to use, plus to have the onsite zicket team to provide support when needed. I would have no hesitation to reuse the zicket system at similar events in the future.
