The Great China Entertainment Company (GCEC) is the Mainland China arm of the Great Entertainment Group (GEG). With properties and events across Asia-Pacific, this is the groups first step into the Mainland, taking up a summer residency at the popular theme park, Window of the World, Shenzhen.
Challenge
The client was looking to take a known product and familiar operational processes into a new market with very different transaction methods and payment expectations. With the rapid rise of mobile digital payments in China, it was important to research and position the offering and product in the right way to ensure both the event and the consumers had a smooth experience, which they were accustomed to.
Solution
To keep as many of the norms’ as possible Zicket deployed a localised Open-Loop RFID and Digital-Payment solution which allowed consumers to pay the way they chose to directly at the attraction using the Zicket RFID card or mobile digital payment (Alipay, WeChatPay, QQPay & UnionPay). Staff were also able to easily use devices as a fully translated app was deployed with Simplified Chinese text.
Result
Combining the payment options via one aggregator allowed us to maintain all performance reports and insights, deliver a seamless solution to consumers & event organiser and deliver a completely cashless event in a new market.
